Shadows Over Kembra

Post by Soraia »

System: Pathfinder RPG
Location: Kingdom of Kembra, The Cursed Isle
Main Characters: TBD
Venue: Real-time communication (TBD)
Number of Players: 4-6
Pitch:
Tough times for the Kingdom of Kembra are coming. King Rhys ap Moridic has taken ill suddenly. Orc and hobgoblin raiding parties are harassing the northeast. Rumor has it that the neighboring nation of Katoria to the east is readying its army. Rumor has it that the barrier around the Demonlands to the north are going to fail soon. Rumor has it that there is a new magelord and that a new Magelord Empire may be ascending.

You are a new squad of foresters in Kembra's Royal Army. You are skirmishers, scouts, troubleshooters, and what we would today call "special ops". You get to delve dungeons, solve crimes, chase bandits, slay goblins, and, in general, solve any problems that require finesse or expertise.

Notes from the GM:
The campaign guide is required reading.

You will want to work amongst yourselves to determine a balanced party.

At the beginning, the campaign is likely to be episodic with missions being given by your superiors. You will get more freedon later on. (At first, you will be able to choose missions sometimes. Later on, you'll have more-or-less free reign.)

You can get a legal copy of the Pathfinder RPG PDF here for $10. The core system itself can be found online free at http://www.d20pfsrd.com/. I'm not sure how Paizo handles gifts so I can give you $10 if you really want it. (By the way, the PDF doesn't play nicely with iBooks. It's much better in GoodReader but it still takes some time to render.) I plan to get at least one physical copy of the core rulebook so this will be available at the gaming table.

As proposed for The Phoenix Must Not Rise Again, I plan to make use of the RealmForge wiki for the campaign. There will be two spaces, one for player-public notes and one for GM-only notes. At the close of the campaign, the GM-only wiki will be made public (but read-only).

You probably want to use this thread for the following things:

1. Asking further questions about the game.
2. Saying that you're interested.
3. Saying when you'll be available to play.
4. Saying what kind of character you want to play.

We can also discuss these in person in July.
