Creation
The gods came from elsewhere, a place they call Lekua Izanzen when they speak of it. They were refugees from a terrible war that pitted mortal against mortal, god against god. They pooled their energies together and created, hidden away from the rest of the gods, a new reality, this reality, Lekua Dela. When everything was ready, they left Lekua Izanzen. To keep their new world safe, they sacrificed part of their power to shield it from their former compatriots.
This sacrifice was greater than they expected. The gods' essences splintered. As the shards merged, split, coalesced, and dispersed, the gods of this world were formed, independent of their previous lives but still possessing the core memories of their predecessors. [2]
After the gods recovered and understood the new world they had inherited, they set about creating a world of mortals. The gods worked together to create it, all of them[3]. As the mortal races took their first breaths, the gods taught them of the world, how to make use of it, how to build great communities, and how to destroy them.
Satisfied with the progression of the mortals, the gods removed themselves from daily affairs of the world, granting stewardship to the mortals.
- ↑ The gods are not bound to mortal understandings of gender. However, they tend to select a given form when dealing with mortals and this is the form that most mortals consider them to be.
- ↑ In Exalted terms, think of the gods at this point as yozi who thought "Oh, we'll just have to sacrifice one or two of our souls for this." Nope. Not only did they have to sacrifice their fetich souls but they were completely ripped out. Their remaining souls eventually formed, after some fusing and splitting, distinct entities.
- ↑ Yes, even Cherysmar and Serissa.
